Color Scheme

 For our color scheme we are trying to make the video dark. There will be brief moments of a lighter color scheme that is going to come with pictures of how our main character “Max” was before. The use of showing how Max was before shows how deeply the loss of his brother impacted and changed him.

Having the contrast in the light and dark color schemes show how Max changed due to the loss of his brother show that the side being shown in the video is a new view of Max. He has turned into an enraged and confused guy who was once happy and felt he had a purpose in life. Now his purpose is figuring out who or what was behind the traumatizing death of Max’s father figure/ brother

Schedule

 This week we finished filming the first half of our portfolio project. The second half of the project we are aiming to finish tomorrow around 3 pm or 7 pm. We are deciding if it would be better to have the sun setting or out in our video. 

The sunset would add to our dark video getting “darker” in feeling. The ideal weather would be a rainy setting with the sky grey but the next day of expected rain is Friday. Time would not technically permit us to film on Friday so we are making effort to work around the weather issue.

Editing

 I started editing the project named “Unspoken.” Using Adobe Premier is rather difficult so i’m spending a lot of time researching how to use it well in order to edit the best I can. Premier is the best editing software since there are many different ways to improve your video.

Trying to connect the clips with the audio from our mics is difficult. The wind in from when we filmed is something hard to work with but i’m trying to find methods to work around it. We are seeing if using other sources of audio would work better for making the video more fluid and professional.

Research/analysis of other films

 The movie American assassin portrays a similar character to Max. The character named Mitch seems to be a man who is severely enraged but with a reason. While traveling to Spain with his fiancé, they are attacked by terrorists leaving her dead and him wounded. The death of his fiancé sets him off over the rails and he is coming for revenge. 

Our character Max, is affected by a similar tragedy which causes him to want answers. Both with military experience, the drive to find who or whatever killed their loved ones takes over their bodies and changes who they are.

  

Group Meeting

 So we just had the group meetings together in order to get feedback and ideas from other groups. From the feedback I heard, the idea we have of the former military soldier who is left confused and in a daze after losing his "father-figure" older brother very abruptly.  Emphasis on the former military experience and focusing on showing the major change in character from before the death and after.

The group worked well together and it was cool to see other ideas and progress to how people have continued their stories. The continuation o the ideas and how they change is interesting in the ideas of creating film and making it better.

3/13 Film in the trail behind Weston Regional Park

We are looking to film this weekend and focus on editing next week. We will be using Adobe premier and I will be the one editing the clips together. Through editing we can finalize a draft to see what we are missing and what can be added to make the overall project better. 

After filming we ran into issues this weekend. We noticed the heavy wind was going to be an issue and we are thinking of buying a dead cat to help with the issues with wind in our outdoor shots. We finished constructing the murder board and Juan is printing the pictures to put on it. The issues with the wind set us back a bit but us filming throughout this week and in spring break will help us recover for lost time.

Changes to Project

     Today we fixed up our project that was somewhat out of order. Our scenes weren't constructed fully and out of place. After meeting with Ms. Stoklosa, we have realized a better plan for our Portfolio. We will be incorporating a murder board which we will be constructing this weekend.

The murder board will feature out main character: Max played by Juan Mila.  He is a military vet that is currently home from deployment, heartbroken from losing his brother. His older brother was the only family he had and his father figure that helped guide him through life. Since Max has military experience and the only family he had was stripped away, he will do what he sees best to avenge the death of his brother.  

Mood

 For our mood we want to make our project in a dark place. Similar to the show "Ozark", we are aiming to make the aura of our opening dark. Ozark has a dark/ somewhat blue tint throughout the show giving it a somewhat depressing type of style. 

    The revenge story aura is intended to show how the life of the main character has become dark and dormant ever since the loss of his Brother. The darkness has driven the character to do everything in his willpower to avenge the loss of his brother.
